Dr. Siraj Ahmed Khan leads the Medical Entomology and Arthropod vector-borne diseases group at ICMR-RMRC, Dibrugarh. During the last 35 years he has been extensively involved in studies related to epidemiology and diagnosis of insect vector-borne diseases and their management and control. Dr. Khan has been awarded ICMR Prize for Biomedical Research conducted in underdeveloped Areas. He is a fellow of the Indian Society for Malaria and other Communicable Diseases (FISCD). Dr. Khan has more than 150 research publications in reputed national and international journals; 11 book chapters. He has presented his work at 12 international and 20 national conferences. He has successfully completed 15 projects as PI funded by prestigious organizations like- ICMR, ISRO, DOS, PATH, USA; WHO; Ministry of Environment and forests, (GoI), DST, DBT. At present he is leading various research projects on Japanese encephalitis (JE), Dengue and Rickettsial diseases. Under his supervision 8 scholars have successfully completed their PhD and 5 are pursuing.
