I am an immunologist interested in understanding the fine tuning of T cell response that keeps the pathogen in check without or with minimal damage to self during infection and additionally, assessing the therapeutic potential of immunoregulatory cells in reducing intestinal inflammation.
Immunology, Cell biology and Microbiology
Dr. Dimpu Gogoi obtained his PhD from Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC), Tata Memorial Centre, Navi Mumbai under Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI) and completed his postdoctoral studies as a SERB Overseas PDF at the Institut Pasteur, France.
He started his independent research career as a DST ‘INSPIRE Faculty’ at ICMR-RMRCNE, Dibrugarh (2014-2019) where the focus of his research was to understand the role of T cell exhaustion in the pathogenesis of chronic hepatitis B and Plasmodium vivax infections. Dr. Dimpu Gogoi joined ICMR-NIRRCH, Mumbai as a Scientist ‘B’ in 2019 where he worked on immunopathology related to child and maternal health. He later returned to ICMR-RMRCNE, Dibrugarh in 2022; and has been working as a Scientist ‘C’ and Nodal Officer for MRHRU, Arunachal Pradesh.
Skilled in Flow cytometry, Cell culture techniques and Maintenance of primary as well as secondary mammalian cell lines, Transfection assay using siRNA, Immunomagnetic purification of T cell subsets, ELISA, SDS-PAGE, Western Blotting, PCR and Real Time PCR, Confocal microscopy, Cytotoxicity assay using 51Cr assay, Proliferation assays using tritiated thymidine and CFSE.
